The deBlur Photo Contest continues to draw young
and aspiring photography enthusiasts of CDU to capture the
best of CDU in sports, arts, culture and academics. In the
2011 deBlur, a photo of a soccer game captured by Mr. Hanz
Matthew Lua (BSN 4) was awarded 1st Prize. The entries that
made it to the final judging are mostly on sports. The 2nd
Prize is a photo by Mr. Antonio Gerona (Med 2) showing a
soccer player trying to evade three defenders and the 3rd
Prize (by Mr. Alexis Maurice Galvez – BSN 4) illustrates happy
athletes winning in the game and all hands on the silver cup
trophy.

Cebu Doctors’ University Alumni Association
(CDUAA) and Cebu Doctors’ University (CDU) are grateful to
the board of judges who went out of their way to be our panel
of experts in choosing the best photo. Mr. Mikhail Arrogante,
a multi-awarded professional photographer has been judging
deBlur since 2008. His field of expertise is on Wedding and
Events. Other members of the board of judges were Mr.
Nimrod Quiñones, the managing editor of The Freeman, who
is engaged in Journalism and Sports Photography, and Ms.
Marmie Whistehuff who has mastered the art of Child and
Newborn Photography.

The winning photos of the 2011 deBlur as well as
the award winning images of previous deBlur Photo contest
were showcased in a week long exhibit at the North Atrium
of CDU. The awarding ceremony was also done during the
launching of the exhibit. Prizes were through the generosity of
our sponsors PRG Photoshop, Pixel Pro, and Mitsubishi Lab.

CDUAA with the help of its alma mater CDU, will carry
on the objective to inspire its members to remain connected
and get involved through deBlur 2012 come August.
